Data Protection Notice
Connections Counselling is required by their insurance company and professional membership body (BACP) to keep records in relation to the counselling services offered. Any personal information is held and processed in accordance with the General Data Regulation May 2018. Relevant, accurate and up to date information will be kept about individuals, and for the purposes of the counselling service only. All personal information held will be destroyed and deleted after 5 years. Information held electronically will be stored in an encrypted device, and all paper records will be stored in a secure filing cabinet. Any paper records no longer required will be destroyed by shredding.
Individuals can request a copy of information held about them by Connections Counselling for a fee of £10, payable by cheque or bank transfer. The request should be made in writing to the address above, or by email to info@connections-counselling.co.uk A copy of an identification document such as a valid passport or driving licence, and proof of address will need to be provided. Should information held involve more than one individual, consent from all individuals involved will need to be given for the information to be released.
Information discussed and records are kept for counselling purposes only. In the interest of confidentiality, the service will not provide information or records for use in legal proceedings.
